OUR JOURNEY

Reflecting on our past, celebrating our present, and inspiring our future.

1950’s

Since as early as the mid-1950's, under various names, many of the plants, now under our Real Alloy umbrella, have been recycling aluminum for our customers.

2015

Aleris International sells it’s recycling business.
Aleris Recycling is renamed REAL ALLOY.

2022

Our Coldwater, Michigan operations are the first plant to receive both ASI certifications

2023

Real Alloy divests from Europe, allowing a greater focus on our North American operations. Also in 2023, all across Real Alloy, receives the prestigious ASI Performance certification. We are proud to be one of the first 12 companies in headquartered in the United States to be certified.

Beyond

The future is brighter with Real Alloy and our environmentally conscious aluminum solutions.

For over three decades, Real Alloy has been a trusted provider of renewed recycled metal and recycling services to various industries in North America, including auto makers, consumer goods, and packaging companies.

As you can imagine, the face of our industry has changed over the years, as has our name.  But the Real Alloy commitment to servicing our customers with the flexibility they have asked for has been the backbone for our success which remains both unchanged and unsurpassed.

Through the years, we’ve been dedicated to searching out new and innovative ways to improve our business and this strategic focus continues to drive our business today. Real Alloy is committed to taking care of our planet and its people.  We hold ourselves to a higher standard, insist on transparency in our actions and continually drive for ways to lessen our carbon footprint.

Today in the United States, more than 80% of all aluminum in use is recycled aluminum. This compared to 20-30% recycled production in the 1980's.

Our team of experienced business leaders embodies a cross-functional approach, prioritizing collaborations and active participation. Together, we strive to achieve our strategic goals, delivering a quality product and exceptional service to our valued customers.  By employing top talent, we ensure that our team remains grounded and capable of meeting and exceeding expectations.
